We have been faithful to this unconventional hobby for more than eight years. The first cast-iron pillars were dug out of the ruins of a textile factory in Bukovice near Náchod. We rescued three more from their fate at the scrap yard in Sedlčany. They were broken, so they needed to be reinforced and welded with special electrodes for cast iron.
They were burnt by nettles in the shade of oaks for some time, and finally they are carrying the roof of the foyer. We have shone a light on their heels, and every time they perform their shadow play they remind us that we have succeeded in restoring their dignity.
The columns were cleaned up, reinforced and re-welded.
